Over two phases of work, the gardens of this 1920's modernist house have been transformed with abundant modern planting and materials to complement the building. Two small distinct gardens have been created, with shared parking for the first floor rental and the ground floor home.
This beautiful and quirky rural garden was originally a working farm, before being owned by a scrap metal dealer. Over twenty years we have been working alongside the client to remove rubble and metal, rebuilding and replenishing the soils, designing and building in many phases.
With limited and very difficult access, this steep city garden site created many logistical issues to solve. Destroyed by renovation works, the garden, which was very overlooked, has been transformed into a private and delightful plant hunter's paradise, filled with the clients' objets d'art and fern collection.
This large rural property with six acres has been one of our longest running projects, first visited in 1998. The sloping site has been levelled and retained in places, creating useable space. Other work has included a courtyard garden, sun deck, wildlife pond, swimming pool and a terraced front garden.
